Japanese Charts: Atelier Marie Remake Debuts Strong, But Not Enough To Trouble Zelda

The latest Japanese charts are in from Famitsu (through Gematsu) and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Realm will again be seen this week to take the top spot despite brand new competition.

Attempting to challenge Zelda’s pole position this time around is Atelier Marie Remake: The Alchemist Of Salburg, whose Switch version managed to land in second place with 16,101 copies sold while the PlayStation 5 edition sold 5,078. Together, it is the best-selling game of the week, but the individuals were not enough to trouble Tears of the Kingdom which moved another 18,109 copies this week and edge ever closer to the two million mark.

Elsewhere, Touhou: New World managed to sneak into the top ten in its opening week, selling 6,436 copies, while the rest of the table is dominated by Switch regulars like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Minecraft and Nintendo Switch Sports.

Last week’s silver medal winner, Game Final Fantasy XVIhas dropped to fourth this time with 8,573 sales, and Master Detective Archives: Rain Code continues its downward trend, falling from fourth last week to tenth this time.

Over on the software side of things and not too much has changed since last week: the Switch OLED is still in the running with Sony’s PS5 in second. Combining the two systems’ SKUs, however, Nintendo is still firmly in the lead with 64,926 total sales across its three units compared to the PS5’s combined 45,459.
