Low Profile Sparkle Intel Arc A380/A310 Budget GPUs Revealed As Part Of New GENIE Series

Highlights

  • Sparkle has partnered with Intel to release its new range of Arc GPUs, including the GENIE series with A380 and A310 models.
  • The TITAN series cards from Sparkle have a triple fan cooler design, which distinguishes them from other series.
  • The Sparkle Intel Arc A750 TITAN OC Edition is priced competitively at $260, putting it in the same range as Radeon RX7600 GPUs from other brands.

Sparkle has announced a new partnership with Intel and unveiled its new range of Arc GPUs. Called the GENIE series of cards, the lineup includes the Intel Arc A380 and A310. They join the previously announced TITAN, ORC, and ELF series cards that are available for purchase through select retailers in the United States and are reasonably competitively priced. As the name suggests, the TITAN series cards are top of the line and come with a cooler triple fan design, compared to dual fan and single fan offerings in the other series.

Sparkle has been in the industry for quite some time, providing embedded GPU solutions, thunderbolt docks, industrial GPUs, and more. With the launch of Intel’s Arc GPU platform, Sparkle is entering the consumer gaming GPU space. It first unveiled its TITAN, ORC, and ELF series of graphics cards at Computex, where it showcased some of the cards in the line. Currently, the company offers the Sparkle Intel Arc A770 / A750 TITAN, the Arc A750 ORC, and the A380 ELF series.

At Computex, there weren’t many details available about the low-profile Arc A3 series cards, but they have now been revealed as the Arc A380 and A310 GENIE series. They have a low-profile single-slot single-fan design similar to some of the previous GPUs. These low-power GPUs don’t have a price tag yet, and it’s unclear when they’ll go on sale. As for specifications, these will come with 8 Xe-Cores and 6GB GDDR6 96-bit memory or 6 Xe-Cores and 4GB of 64-bit GDDR6 memory.

Comparable GPU Options

As for Sparkle GPUs currently available for purchase, the Sparkle Intel Arc A750 TITAN OC Edition with 8GB DDR6 VRAM is priced at $260 on Amazon. It’s $10 cheaper than the Acer Predator BiFrost Arc A750 which has a blower-style cooling design with two fans. However, Intel’s own Arc 750 is priced at $220, but that price difference is likely to reflect the Intel card’s less efficient cooling system. More importantly, the Sparkle Intel Arc A750 TITAN OC Edition’s price tag puts it alongside Radeon RX7600 GPUs from Asrock, MSI, Gigabyte, and others. In particular, although the Intel Arc A750 generally performs worse than the Radeon RX7600, the difference is negligible.

The Gigabyte Radeon RX 7600 Gaming OC is a dual-slot triple-fan graphics card that brings Gigabyte’s efficient WINDFORCE cooling technology. It has three 80mm fans with alternating spinning that work alongside the five composite copper heat pipes that directly contact the GPU. The GPU uses the highest grade metal chokes, a 2oz copper PCB, lower ESR solid capacitors, and lower RDS (on) MOSFETs, among other features.

The Sparkle Intel Arc A750 is also available in the ORC series and the A750 ORC OC Edition, with the same 8GB GDDR6 VRAM, is priced at $240. It comes with a dual fan design. This makes it an even more competitive proposition considering how close the Intel Arc A750 is to the Radeon RX7600 GPUs. Finally, the Sparkle Intel Arc A380 ELF with 6GB GDDR6 VRAM is available for purchase for $140. This single fan short GPU will fit in most small form factor cases and will deliver performance along the lines of the slightly more expensive but older Radeon RX 6400, Nvidia’s GTX 1650 Super, or GTX 1650.
