England open their 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup championship clash against Haiti (FOX and the FOX Sports app) as the two squads clash at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Australia.
The Lionesses enter the game as one of the favorites to top the Americans in the tournament, currently ranked fourth in the FIFA World Rankings. Meanwhile, Haiti faces a big challenge, being ranked 54th in the world. England will have his work cut out for him, however, as he will be without injured stars Beth Mead and Leah Williamson.
On the bright side, England captain Millie Bright was cleared to start Saturday’s game. She was recovering from a knee injury suffered in Chelsea’s Champions League quarter-final first leg with Lyon in March.

29′: GOAL! England lead on penalty …. bit by bit
There was drama at the 29 minute mark. First, England were awarded a penalty when a Haiti defender reached his hands up to remove a ball.
Then, after the first penalty was saved by Georgia Stanway, the referee ruled that the goalkeeper had left his line too early. Stanway then went back to the same spot, giving England a 1-0 lead. England are undefeated in scoring for the first time in the women’s World Cup, at 13-2-0.
