2 Persona Games Confirmed for Gamescom

  • Sega and Atlus will have demos of Persona 3 Reload and Persona 5 Tactica available to play at Gamescom.
  • These demos will be the first time the games are playable to the public and will showcase their features.
  • Other upcoming games from Sega will also be featured at Gamescom, giving fans the opportunity to try them before deciding to purchase.

Sega and Atlus confirm that the upcoming Gamescom will have demos of two highly anticipated Persona games, Persona 3 Reload and Persona 5 Tactica, available to play at the event. Persona 3 Reload is a remake of the 2006 original RPG, while Persona 5 Tactica is a strategy RPG that once again stars the fan favorite Phantom Thieves in a new adventure that sees them transported into a new world.

Persona 5 Tactica will be released later this November, while the Persona 3 remake is slated for early 2024. With the release windows within a few months, Atlus has revealed when fans can try these two Persona games out for themselves: Gamescom in Cologne, Germany. Gamescom is one of the largest gaming conventions in the world, with Sega presenting a demo for Sonic Frontiers at the event last year. The Japanese publisher will be in attendance for the 2023 iteration as well with some of its upcoming releases, including the aforementioned Persona games.

This was confirmed on both Sega’s and Atlus’ official social media feeds. Both Persona 3 Reload and Persona 5 Tactica will be playable on the Gamescom show floor. This is the first time that these two games will be playable to the public, with players having the chance to try out the features of Persona 5 Tactica and Persona 3 Reload. The posts are vague about the content included, but based on past demos, they are likely to be timed, allowing players to try out a specific section of each game. These demos will be playable throughout the event on August 23-27, 2023.

Other upcoming releases that Sega will be featuring at the event will be the co-op platformer Sonic Superstars, the Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name spin-off, Samba De Amigo: Party Central, and more. All the games featured at Gamescom are slated to coming out this year, or are already released titles that will give fans to try out to see if they’re worth purchasing.

A number of publishers and companies will be present at Gamescom, ranging from Indie game studios to AAA publishers like Nintendo and Ubisoft. Fans hope that the Persona demos seen at Gamescom will eventually become playable for free on the platforms it will be releasing on after the event, but no plans to that effect have actually been announced at the time of this writing.
