Genshin Impact Banner Breaks Infamous Revenue Record

Highlights

  • Genshin Impact’s recent double banner featuring Klee and Eula has set a new record for the lowest sales, surprising many players who expected better results from popular characters.
  • Although Eula is known for her high damage output and Klee was once considered one of the best characters, they seem to have lost their appeal in the game’s character meta over time.
  • The low sales of the banner could be attributed to players saving their in-game currency for upcoming months that will bring new content, including the addition of new characters like Lyney, Lynette, Freminet, and the new Hydro Archon.

A Genshin Impact revenue chart shows the underwhelming sales numbers recorded by the first double banner that was part of update 3.8. The banner featured two popular characters, the troublesome five-star Pyro user Klee and the long-awaited Cryo claymore unit Eula.

Over the last couple of months, each banner cycle in Genshin Impact has featured a double banner which means that players can pull for two different five-star characters at the same time. These banners usually last for 3 to 4 weeks when a new set of limited characters takes their place.

A Reddit user named PotatoCatPi has shared an interesting chart that shows the overall banner sales of the previous double banner that featured the Pyro user Klee and the Cryo claymore Eula. According to the chart, the banner has surprisingly managed to break the record for the lowest number of sales. Many players claim that they did not expect this banner to do so badly in terms of revenue since it features two very popular characters. The Cryo user Eula has been one of the most anticipated characters since her last re-run was way back in 2021, and she went over 500 days without a banner appearance. She is considered one of the best DPS characters in Genshin Impact whose kit revolves around dealing Physical damage.

Despite being released a long time ago, Eula still holds the record for the highest recorded damage number in Genshin Impact. However, all these qualities were not reflected in the banner’s sales numbers. The second character, Klee, was one of the first limited five-star characters introduced to the game back in 2020. Even though she was once considered one of the best characters in the game, Klee has been slowly pushed out of Genshin Impact‘s character meta as more complex characters joined the roster.

There are probably multiple reasons why this banner attracted such a low number of sales. One of them is probably the fact that many players are saving up their Primogems for the upcoming months which will be packed with new content. Genshin Impact‘s official social media accounts have already confirmed three new Genshin Impact characters that will join the roster, Lyney, Lynette, and Freminet.

There have already been multiple promotional videos for Fontaine that featured a number of future characters, including the new Hydro Archon. Another character who is expected to join the roster fairly soon is Wriothesley who is rumored to be a new Cryo user.

Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
